Currently under construction as they are making the market bigger. The market is in a temporary site. There is no access to the vineyard this time of year. Good customer service in the market store. He suggested a great bottle! Purchased cheese, cheeseboard, crackers and wine. Less great service in the wine tasting area. Said we couldn’t eat there because they didn’t have a food license. The public area tables needed to be sanitized more regularly. Cute place but not magnificent. I wasn’t blown away for my first NAPA experience. Ample parking.
V. Sattui Winery exceeded all expectations. Upon our friend's glowing recommendation, we joined their membership. The reservation process for tasting was seamless, and opting for the standing area, offering both comfort and ample space to enjoy the experience. The staff's expertise was evident as they guided us through their impressive selection of wines, allowing us to savor each sip without feeling hurried. We left with a few bottles in hand, grateful for the delightful memories and looking forward to future visits. Our experience at this Winery was great overall, however, one staff member, Oscar, lacked people skills and wasn’t knowledgeable. Thankfully, another staff, Adam, stepped in and provided exceptional service, making our visit memorable.
I said I wasn't going to join any wine clubs on this trip, but the quality and the variety and selection of their wines made me reconsider that decision, and I joined. They also give you a plethora of options for the wine club. It was too good to pass up! The building and grounds are beautiful here, too, even with the construction going on. Will be glad to return!
Pros: -Wine Variety 🍷: Offers a wide selection of wines, cheese, and small bites for a picnic experience. -Ambiance 🌳: Beautiful grounds with a friendly atmosphere, perfect for spring and pleasant weather. -Excellent Experience 👍: Excellent food and beverage quality, good service, and seamless reservation process. Cons: -Accessibility 🚗: The winery closes at 5 PM, which may not suit everyone’s schedule. -Location 📍: Situated in St Helena, CA, which might be a distance for some visitors. -Weather Dependent ☀️: Outdoor picnics are best enjoyed in good weather, which can be a limitation for some guests.
V. Sattui is probably the friendliest winery in Napa Valley. Over the past years, I've always driven there specifically for the comfortable picnic setting. Currently, the winery's grocery store is being renovated, so it's not at its best. I'm looking forward to seeing its new look on my next visit.
