One of our favorite wineries we hit during our wine tour. The guy that did our tasting was great with lots of good information about the winery, grapes, and history. At the end of the flight, he catered our tasting towards the types of wines we prefer. The wine flight fee was very affordable which was also a plus!
Absolutely beautiful setting. This was our last tasting of the day and we were sort of done with tasting wine, especially after eating too much at lunch. We feel maybe we aren’t giving it a fair shake, but really the only reason for the 4 stars is because of the service. We were sat in the “secret garden” which is stunning. But, then another younger couple was sat a little bit after us and the wine server was much more focused on them. We are a couple in our late 40’s, early 50’s but also had my elderly mother. Our wine server was maybe in his late 20’s. I think he struggled to relate to us, but he offered this visual map to the other couple and explained it in detail. He never offered this and had to ask about it. We just felt a little ignored. He was nice to us but just didn’t pay us much attention. None of us are fans of Chardonnay. I knew this particular Chardonnay is very popular and was curious if I’d like it. Unfortunately, it tastes like every other Chardonnay I’ve ever had (not a fan!) But, I thoroughly enjoyed their Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon. And again, the setting is just gorgeous and no regrets about our visit!!
Ryan gave us a fantastic tour and tasting through the cellar. It was fun getting the behind the scenes view of production. His relaxed walked through of the wine and food pairings gave us all the opportunity to explore different combinations. Absolutely loved their chardonnays. The atmosphere comes with great views and plenty of quaint spaces to sit. Absolutely recommend rombauer!
We had a fabulous time at this beautiful location. I was able to reserve a table the same day. We got a beautiful table overlooking the wine valley. The option of having wine by the glass or bottle was great. We had the cab, Pinot and all the wine were excellent. Specially the reds, which were full bodied. I loved the location and the setting and looking forward to going back soon and hopefully carrying a picnic lunch to accompany the wine.
Wow! Rombauer has been my favorite wine for years, and we finally got to visit for my birthday. It exceeded our expectations with beautiful views of rolling hills, vineyards, and flowers + fantastic staff/service. We made reservations in advance (recommended) and sat outside for a tasting - included 5 wines plus a bonus. Loved most of the options, and we all took home a couple bottles. Was happy to learn Rombauer was one of the few child friendly wineries in the area since we had our baby niece accompanying us. Can also bring your own food/picnic. Can't wait to return - it was our group's favorite winery of the trip!
