I first came to know about Opus One after visiting 5 years ago, and I am grateful that it showed me that the 2008 vintage was my taste. 5 years later, I wanted to find something different to my taste, so I went there. At that time, it was under construction for a while, but now it looks like it has been remodeled. It was new and more stable, and the welcome tea was really good. We had a great time purchasing Magner wine and receiving various information.
It was a pinch me moment when I was confirmed to visit Opus Wine Winery. It was my first winery and tasting of my first visit to Napa and I started at the top. From the moment that I arrived at the gates and then into the reception area, I felt like a valued guest and received world class hospitality. This was topped off by the personal and professional attention by Ambassador Max who spent 1.5 hours with me taking me back of house, telling me incredible stories of the history of Opus One and the families, ending with an incredible tasting of their amazing wines. I was left breathless. It is definitely worth the investment to visit Opus One and experience their incredible hospitality.
This property is exquisite! We learned the hard work behind each bottle. Including the corks. You understand the price point once you see how hard they work to provide quality wine. Our host Marc has been there for 20 years so this tells you how well they also treat their employees. We are not club members but we were treated as such. No rush, or obligations to buy and we all ended up getting a bottle. Make a reservation and do not miss out on this experience.
If you understand your grape and the hard work that goes into producing one of the world's best wines, then this is a must visit. Reservations required. The estate is so impressive. As a tradesman in the industry, I must say this was the most captivating visit out of all. The staff are extremely welcoming. The beauty and nostalgia of Opus are worthy of a tear of joy. Caleb was a super host. Brain is most fitting for this vineyard. This was a top 3 experience in my life (I have been blessed with many great experiences). I am forever grateful for their hospitality, knowledge, and profound love for what they do. We personally enjoyed the 18' vintage and are extremely excited to re visit when the 23' is released. It truly will be the vintage of our lifetime. Again, many, many thanks to the entire staff at Opus. This was a magical experience ๐ฉ ๐ทโ๏ธ๐ Grazie Opus One
